# S3-compatible storage destination

> This page explains how to set up an S3-compatible storage destination.

S3-compatible storage refers to third-party storage systems that implement Amazon S3’s APIs, enabling seamless interoperability with tools and applications built for S3. For example, [MinIO](https://min.io/), [Wasabi](https://wasabi.com/), or [Backblaze](https://www.backblaze.com/).

To configure an S3-compatible storage destination:

* **Access key ID**. For more information on access keys in Amazon S3, see the [Amazon documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/id_credentials_access-keys.html).
* **Secret access key**. For more information on access keys in Amazon S3, see the [Amazon documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/id_credentials_access-keys.html).
* In **Bucket**, enter the bucket name. For more information on bucket properties in Amazon S3, see the [Amazon documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/view-bucket-properties.html).
* In **Hostname**, specify the hostname.
* In **Region**, select the bucket region. For more information on bucket properties in Amazon S3, see the [Amazon documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/view-bucket-properties.html).
* Optional: In **Format**, specify the format in which Axiom sends data to the destination.
